Arsenal's new front man Lukas Podolski

As has become the norm on this blog we will look at the events surrounding Arsenal from a communication perspective. This afternoon (Saturday 15 September) saw the team run riot against Southampton and come away with a 6-1 victory.
The only sour note for Arsene Wenger was a mistake from Wojciech Szczesny, which ruined their perfect defencive record this season (Mirror.co.uk). The goal conceded aside though this was a game that has started to reinforce the teams constant communication messages that things will get better.
After the clubs 0-0 draw to Sunderland at the beginning of the season communication about the club has centred around the lack of goals without Van Persie. With some going as far as saying the club is incapable of scoring without their former captain (Soccer Room). Fast forward to the clubs fourth game of the season and the teams dreary start is looking more and more like a blistering one. The club has only conceded one goal this season, is undefeated and scored six goals in their latest victory.
The goal scorers against Southampton
- Lukas Podolski scored from a free kick.
- Theo Wallcott stuck home late in the game against his old team.
- Gervinho received a standing ovation from the Arsenal fans after he scored twice.
- The constant pressure from Arsenal forced Sothampton into conceding two own goals.

What an outstanding peformance and i would like to congratulate Wenger for producing such quality players at the Emirate.A way forward indded with the cricitsm of new signings not scoring goals after the departure of RVP but they finally came to the party.
ReplyDeleteArsene Wenger is trully a football genius, it is amazing to see how he has kept the club at the top for so many years with not even as much recources as clubs such as Manchester City and Chelsea have.
DeleteManchester City will give Arsenal a good run for their money, because we know that Manchester does not let their gaurd down very easily both on and off the feild. It should be a tough game.
ReplyDeleteTrue Sizzle, the current Champions are undefeated at their home stadium in almost two years which is where the match will take place. It will certainly be an interesting clash
DeleteI'm not a soccer fanatic but that was a marvelous match! And PR wise, the reputation is being maintained!
ReplyDeleteFrom a communication perspective it is always good to see the club deliver on the promises it has communicated. It shows that the communication messages from the club are credible as opposed to just sent out for the sake of saying something.
DeleteI must say the Gunners have stunned me, they are playing better than I thought they would, expecially after letting go of Song and Van Persie. Not bad not bad at all.
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly good to see the club going back to its former self. This should make the Barclays Premier league even more exiting and it will be interesting to watch the communication messages that arise due to Arsenal's return to their championship winning form.
