Will Van Persie Stay at Arsenal?

Considering the huge business that football is today, the messages that the football clubs and managers communicate are vital. Many People (supporters, sponsors etc) look to these messages to have an idea of where the club is headed in the future. For example last season I tuned into SuperSport to watch Wenger discuss the future of Cesc Fabrigas and Samir Nasri. It was vital at that time that these key players remained at the club and so naturaly all who are interested in Arsenal watched with baited breath.

The message Arsenal and Arsene Wenger communicated

The club (through the mananger) communicated the reassuring message that these key players were likely to remain at the club. As a result the morale of all the stakeholders and supporters was kept intact as we all looked to the future with optimism. Imagine the dissapointment then when these two key players left the club despite of what the club had communicated to everyone. Yes it was an issue indeed as messages started flying in from all directions, fans demanding new QUALITY signings, the club talking about it's financial policy. This situation was one that would seemingly not end with anyone happy, particularly Arsenal fans as the club was adamant it would not spend money buying expensive superstar type players.

Enter Robyn Van Persie! Not a new signing but a player the club has always been able to rely on, and rely on him we have. From Arsenals 5-2 demolition of Tottenham, our theatrical 2-1 win over liverpool and our near fantasy achieving 3-0 at The Emirates over AC Milan. Eventualy though we had to be brought back to reality courtesy of an ever growing mountain of transfer rumours, and just as we did last time we are looking to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.

How long will Arsenals Relyant Robyn be celebrating scoring goals as a gunners player? (royalicious.skyrock.com)

The club now needs to communicate to us all the future of Robyn Van Persie, but this time the clubs message may be riddiculed by others. They will undoubtedly highlight the fact that not too long ago we were told that Fabrigas and Nasri were likely to stay but they both left. So why cant the same be said of Robyn Van Persie? This has put the credibility of what Arsenal and Wenger say in somewhat of a compromising possition. However I think that we should remember that football is unpredictable both as a game and as a business, so no one will be right all the time. We will just have to weigh up the messages that Arsenal and it's manager communicate with other messages from other credible sources including Robyn Van Persie himself. Then we can wait untill the time comes for him to renew his contract and see if he does so or not, for now though all we have are the rumours, the speculation and what Arsenal and Wenger communicate to us.

  1. Arsenal once again proved that life goes on after big players. i acknowledge their influential input to the club but no player is bigger than the club at Arsenal

  2. @Thabang- I agree that ultimately no player is bigger than a club, however in order to be successful a club needs world class players.

@Clinton- I just hope that Podolski can adapt to the way in which Arsenal plays.

    1. Well at the moment it seems as though he might just stay, there has been no mention of him being unhappy at the club or wishing to go ply his trade at another club. We will just have to wait and see what Arsenal says when the time comes for him to renew his contract in june.

  4. @quincy,manchester city where at all intrested to have him actually, roberto mancini in exact, however wenger turned down their intrests by saying, van persie wil not even consider their fat offer as long as he's still his manager, but yeah most of the clubs seems to be not intrested in robbin as they know that it won't be that easy whatsoever to withdraw him at emirates.
